Canadian Spa Company spas are designed to use larger suction pumps, all of our spas depend on this for operational use as we need 2.5 -2.6 inch intakes which provide enough water flow for the proper flow to the jets as well as the right flow to the heater.

Any tampering with the intake would void all warranties. Some companies are trying to sell inferior pumps and down grade our systems in order to sell their cheaper goods.  You have one of the best spa products on the market and if you wanted to buy a cheap spa you would have done it in the first place.
