The Erie SE

Two sculpted Captain's chairs anchor the Erie SE, framing a spa that's as considered in its ergonomics as it is generous in its hydrotherapy. Sink into the no-float lounger and let twin 5 HP pumps drive a precise blend of water and air through 46 jets — a deep, travelling massage that works the calves, hamstrings and lower back the way a good therapist would. Six seats, every one purposeful. Nothing decorative, nothing wasted.

One specification · no options
White marbled shell · dark brown cabinet · black cover

One finish, chosen deliberately. The marbled white shell hides calcium waterline so you're not wiping the tub down every week. The dark brown cabinet sits naturally alongside rattan garden furniture, and the hardtop cover is winter-rated black. Read the reasoning →

§ 01 · THE ERIE SE

Luxury six-person.
No-float lounger.

The Erie SE is positioned as the luxury six-person in our range — the spa you pick when you want flagship-level hydrotherapy and finish but don't want to spend Niagara money. Square 213 × 213 cm footprint, a no-float lounger on one side (contoured and subtly gripped so your body stays put under the water rather than floating up), and five ergonomically sculpted seats around the remaining three sides. Same Balboa controls, same Lucite® acrylic shell, same Mountain Pure™ UV + ozone sanitation and same Blackout Insulation as the Niagara — at a lower price.

Forty-six adjustable stainless steel jets distributed across the seats — neck and shoulder clusters at bench-top level, lumbar clusters at mid-back, calf and sole clusters at the footwell, a dedicated array along the lounger spine — all fed by our WhiteWater™ Jet Delivery System. Oversized pipework within the spa means minimal pressure drop between pump and jet, and tailored air controls deliver genuine therapeutic force rather than the soft fizz you get from entry-level hydrotherapy. Two 5 HP pumps with diverter valves on the topside route full pressure where it's needed instead of splitting it evenly across every seat; air venturi valves at the rim let each person dial their own air injection.

Year-round hardware to match. A 3 kW Balboa heater with smart sensors shuts off within half a degree of set point. Blackout Insulation — triple-layer with infra-red reflection panels and high-density closed-cell foam — holds the temperature once the water is up. ThermalSprings™ pumps waste heat from the motors back into the water rather than venting it. A 5″→3″ tapered hardtop cover with locking straps seals the heat in overnight. An Aurora™ Premium LED package washes colour through the whole shell after dark, and the LED-backlit cascading waterfall gives the spa genuine character on a dark evening. This is a decade-plus spa for a household that soaks several times a week — not a garden ornament that becomes a summer-only thing once the energy bill hits.

§ 02 · Engineered In Detail

Every feature earning its place.

The Erie SE is the luxury six-person in our range. A 46-jet WhiteWater™ layout, twin 5 HP pumps, no-float lounger, extra-large Balboa overlay pad, Blackout Insulation, Aurora™ Premium LED with a cascading waterfall, and the same year-round build as our Niagara flagship. Every feature doing a real job — no gimmicks, no jet-count padding.

01 · SEATING
6seats
Lounger + 5 Seats

A full-length lounger down one side — where you'd go for the quiet half-hour at the end of the day — plus five seats arranged around the other three sides for shared soaks and socials. Proper headrests, footwell jets, lumbar clusters. Not a scaled-down two-seater with extra seats tacked on.

02 · HYDROTHERAPY
46jets
WhiteWater™ · 2 × 5 HP

Forty-six adjustable stainless steel jets — not plastic — fed by our WhiteWater™ Jet Delivery System. Oversized pipework within the spa means minimal pressure drop between pump and jet, so the furthest seat gets the same therapeutic pressure as the nearest. Two 5 HP pumps drive the circuit, with diverter valves that route full pressure where it's needed instead of splitting it evenly across every seat, and air venturi valves at the rim let each person dial their own air injection. Real flagship-grade hydrotherapy.

03 · SANITATION
UV+O₃
Mountain Pure™ — UV + Ozone

The Mountain Pure™ sanitation system combines a UV-C lamp with a built-in ozone generator. Water passes the UV-C bulb where the short-wavelength light disrupts bacteria and viruses at cell level, while the ozone generator oxidises organics before they reach the filter. Two sanitation stages working together mean the cleanest water with the fewest chemicals — kinder on skin and eyes, easier on the filter, and a meaningful step up from the chlorine-only sanitation you'll find in most plug-and-play spas at this price point.

04 · FILTRATION
50ft²
Glacier Antimicrobial

A 50 ft² Glacier antimicrobial filter sits in a gated weir, threaded for a secure seal. Antimicrobial media inhibits bacterial growth on the filter itself for the life of the cartridge. Paired with the dual-pump circulation, the whole tub turns over in minutes, not hours.

05 · HEAT RETENTION
3kW
Blackout Insulation

A 3 kW Balboa heater brings 1,100 L of water up; our Blackout Insulation package holds it there — triple-layer insulation with infra-red reflection panels, high-density closed-cell foam and thermal blocks around the shell and cabinet. The ThermalSprings™ system pumps waste heat from the two 5 HP pumps back into the water rather than venting it to the air, and the 5″→3″ tapered hardtop cover with locking straps seals the heat in overnight. Built for UK winters — the heater is rarely working against the weather.

06 · CONTROLS
BP
Balboa · Extra-Large Pad

The Erie SE ships with the Balboa system's extra-large overlay pad — bigger buttons, clearer legends, easier to operate wet-handed on a cold evening. Adjusts jets, pumps, temperature and lighting with a single touch, no menus to navigate, same platform we run across the Niagara flagship.

07 · AUDIO & LIGHT
2×
Bluetooth + LED Waterfall

Two retractable waterproof Bluetooth speakers pair with your phone from anywhere in the garden. An LED-backlit cascading waterfall shifts colour through the evening — the small details that make the soak feel like an event, not a utility.

08 · LOUNGER
NF
No-Float Lounger

A full-length no-float lounger down one side of the square shell — contoured and subtly gripped so your body stays put under the water rather than floating up at the shoulders and feet (the common complaint with cheap loungers). Calves, thighs, lower back, shoulders and head supported in line, with a dedicated jet array tracking the spine — neck, mid-back, lumbar, plus calf jets at the far end. The seat most owners form an opinion on within thirty seconds.

§ 03 · The Finish

Why we only
do one colour.

Most hot tub brands offer four or five shell colours. We offer one — a white shell with an understated marbling through it, paired with a dark brown cabinet and a winter-rated black hardtop cover. It isn't a compromise. It's the answer we arrived at after years of watching owners live with their spas.

01

No weekly wipe-down.

Calcium builds up at the waterline on every hot tub — that's just hot water chemistry. On dark shells, you see it. You end up wiping the tub down on a regular basis to keep it looking respectable. On our marbled white, the calcium is still there, but it disappears into the finish. Most people buy a hot tub to take away their stress, not to give themselves a part-time job wiping it down. That's the main reason we landed on white.

02

The lighting comes alive at night.

The Aurora™ LED package — perimeter lights, large underwater LEDs, and the LED-backlit cascading waterfall — was designed to wash colour across the shell. A white marbled interior picks up and carries every hue. On a dark shell, the lights just sit there. On this one, they paint the whole tub.

03

Built to sit with garden furniture.

The dark brown cabinet is designed to sit naturally alongside rattan — the most common garden furniture choice in a British back garden. The hardtop cover above it is winter-rated black, so the colour story reads top-to-bottom as cover / shell / cabinet rather than a single block of brown. It's not trying to be a feature. It's trying to blend in.

§ 04 · Seating Layout

Six seats.
No-float lounger.

The Erie SE is laid out as a luxury six-person square with a no-float lounger down one side and five ergonomically sculpted seats around the remaining three. Each position has its own jet cluster and its own air venturi — you dial in your own massage without disturbing anyone else.

  • 01 / NO-FLOAT LOUNGER
    Full-Body Horizontal Recline

A full-length lounger running along one side of the square, contoured and subtly gripped so your body stays put under the water rather than floating up at the shoulders and feet — the common complaint with cheap loungers. Calves, thighs, lower back, shoulders and head all supported in line, with jet clusters tracking the spine — neck, mid-back, lumbar, and a pair of powerful calf jets at the far end. The seat most buyers form an opinion on within thirty seconds.

  • 02 / FIVE UPRIGHT SEATS
    Contoured Perimeter Positions

Five ergonomically contoured seats around the remaining three sides of the square — two captain's-style corner seats, two mid-wall seats and a cool-down perch. Each is deep enough to sit with your shoulders properly under the waterline, each has its own dedicated jet cluster, and the square layout puts everyone face-to-face rather than shoulder-to-shoulder in a circle.

  • 03 / JET CLUSTERS
46 Stainless Jets · Targeted Per Seat

Forty-six adjustable stainless steel jets — not plastic — split across the six positions. Neck and shoulder clusters at bench-top level, lumbar clusters at mid-back, calf and sole clusters at the footwell, and a dedicated array along the lounger spine. Diverter valves on the topside route the dual-pump pressure where it's needed; air venturi valves at the rim let each person dial their own air injection.

— A note on fit

The Erie SE comfortably seats six adults up to about 6'3". The lounger fits frames up to around 6'2" properly in line — taller than that and your feet start creeping over the edge of the footrest. If you want the same six-seat format at a lower price point, the London SE is the value-tier sibling — 44-jet, dual-pump, same 213 × 213 footprint, several hundred pounds less. Hosting larger groups? The Niagara steps up to a seven-seat flagship with twin loungers. If four is closer to your reality, the rectangular four-seat Calgary is plug-and-play (no electrician, smaller footprint). Not sure? Book a showroom visit — ten minutes from Gatwick — and sit in all of them.

Installed Today · Could Not Have Been Any Better

Had my Erie SE hot tub installed today by Tony. I'm so happy with the hot tub — Tony has gone through how things work, explained the chemicals and the control panel. Could not have been any better.

I would also like to thank Xavier for all your help and support. Can't praise the team at Canadian Spa enough.

Showroom Visit · Delivery · Install — All Excellent

All our dealings with Canadian Spa and yourself — our visit to you, questions, communications etc. — have all been excellent with swift polite responses.

Craig and Gary, who delivered and installed our Erie SE, were fab and worked hard given the route up our garden was challenging. They took time to talk us through everything and were very helpful answering questions.

We'd have no hesitation recommending Canadian Spa — in fact one member of our family is already very interested. Thank you once again. Best wishes.

§ 08 · Before You Buy

Questions worth asking.

Can I get the Erie SE in another colour?

We only ship one finish: a marbled white shell with a dark brown cabinet and a winter-rated black hardtop cover, designed to sit naturally alongside rattan garden furniture. It's a deliberate decision — the white shell hides waterline calcium that you'd otherwise be wiping off a dark shell every week, and it carries the Aurora™ LED lighting far better at night.

The Erie SE shares its cover-colour group with the Patio Spas, London SE, Alberta and Kingston — all ship with black covers above the brown cabinet.

What's included in delivery and how long will it take?

Option 1 · Free kerbside delivery to mainland UK. The spa arrives on a Luton-style van with a tail-lift, and the driver drops it at the kerb at your delivery address. Most drivers are pretty helpful if you're nice to them — but the pallet network's contracted service stops at the kerb. From kerb to final spot is your responsibility: most Erie SE owners either take it down a side passage (at least 95 cm clear width) on a heavy-duty wheeled furniture dolly with 4 able-bodied helpers, or remove a fence panel and lift it in over the top. Here's the kind of dolly to look for at Brandon Hire Station.

Option 2 · Back Garden Install +£799. If you have the base and the access sorted, we'll come out on our own flat-bed truck, flip the spa on its side like a built-up wardrobe onto our wheeled dolly, take it down the side path to its final spot, and lower it onto the base. If your hose reaches, we'll start the fill; we assemble the accessories, walk you through how to use the spa and the chemicals, and leave the spa heating up. You can jump in within 24 hours once the electrician has commissioned the circuit (which is a separate job, not part of the install — see below).

Honest recommendation: if access is genuinely doable with 4 helpers and a dolly, kerbside saves £799. If you're unsure, measure the narrowest point before ordering and give us a ring on 01293 824 094 — we'll advise honestly. For really tight accesses, a HIAB crane-lift over the garden is quotable separately — the larger flagship spas (Niagara, Alberta, Kingston) more commonly go in this way.

Either way, electrical is separate. The Erie SE is 32 A hardwired — source a local electrician for a half-day job (typically £300–£700) to fit the dedicated circuit. We'd suggest booking them for a day or two after the spa delivery.

Current lead times: allow 2–3 weeks for kerbside and 3–4 weeks for Back Garden Install. Cautious estimates — we're normally faster, and we'll confirm a firm date once your order is in. Scottish Highlands quotable on request.

How do the filters work, and when do they need replacing?

Your Erie SE arrives with a Glacier antimicrobial filter already installed and ready to go in a gated weir. The filter media is infused with silver ions — a natural antimicrobial agent that inhibits bacterial growth on the filter itself for the full life of the cartridge. Paired with the UV-C lamp and built-in ozone generator, it keeps water clean with minimal chemical intervention.

Replacement schedule: we recommend replacing the Glacier filter every 4–6 months, or sooner if it looks discoloured or worn.

A good trick: keep two filters on rotation, so you can pop a clean one in while you soak and rinse the used one overnight.

Will it fit me if I'm tall?

The Erie SE comfortably fits six adults up to about 6'3" in the upright seats. The lounger is laid out for frames up to around 6'2" in proper line — taller than that and your feet creep over the footrest. If the lounger is the whole reason you're buying this spa and everyone in the household is 6'3"+, the Niagara has twin longer loungers on a larger square shell.

Our best advice is always the same: come and sit in it. The lounger is the seat most people form an opinion on within 30 seconds — we'd rather you know before you order than after. Ten minutes from Gatwick, open 7 days.

Who is the Erie SE for?

Three groups consistently land on the Erie SE:

Families who host. Parents and two or three kids, a couple plus grown-up children home for the weekend, four friends + partners. Six seats and a lounger means everyone has a proper spot — not two people in and four watching.

Buyers who want premium-feel ownership without stepping up into flagship money. The Erie SE carries most of what makes our Niagara flagship feel the way it does — Blackout Insulation, Mountain Pure™ UV + ozone, Aurora™ LED, dual-pump 46-jet layout with diverter valves, 5″→3″ hardtop cover. It lands several thousand pounds below the Niagara without cutting corners on the parts that matter for year-round use.

Lounger-seekers. A horizontal soak is a different experience from sitting upright — plenty of buyers have tried a friend's and realised they can't go back. The Erie SE is the most affordable spa in our range with a proper full-length lounger.

Who it isn't for: renters or people who'd rather avoid electrician work — for that, look at the plug-and-play Calgary (4-person) or Montreal (3-person) which run off a standard 13 A outdoor socket. The Erie SE needs a 32 A hardwired circuit and a qualified electrician.

Do I need an annual service to keep the warranty active?

No. Our 2-year parts and labour warranty runs from the date of delivery with no mandatory annual service. Some brands require a paid manufacturer service every year to keep cover active — miss one, warranty voided. We think that's a tax, not a condition.

That said: an annual service is still a good idea for the long-term health of any hot tub. It's a recommendation we'll happily make — it's just not tied to your cover.

What does the warranty actually cover?

Two separate layers, both included as standard:

2 years parts & labour — the shell structure, pumps, heater, and control system. If something fails in normal use, we replace the part and fit it, anywhere in the UK.

10 years against water loss through the shell structure — structural protection for the core integrity of the acrylic body.

You can also extend the parts and labour cover by a further 2 years for £850 (this tier; £500 on Patio Spas, £1,200 on Swim Spas). The extension is stackable — buy it twice and you get four additional years — and can be purchased at any point while still under warranty.

What electrical supply do I need?

A 32 A dedicated hardwired circuit fitted by a qualified electrician. The dual-pump system pulls more than a standard 13 A socket can deliver, so this is a wired connection directly back to your consumer unit, via a rotary isolator on the wall near the spa, with Part P certification on completion.

Practically, this is usually a half-day job for an electrician you source locally — typically £300–£700 depending on the run length and your consumer unit's spare capacity. Not included in the spa price. We'd suggest getting a quote from a local electrician before ordering so there are no surprises, and scheduling them for a day or two after the spa arrives.

If you'd rather avoid the electrician step altogether, the Calgary (4-person) and Montreal (3-person) run off a standard outdoor 13 A socket — plug-and-play, same day.

What base does the Erie SE need to sit on?

A flat, level, load-bearing surface at least the size of the spa's footprint — the Erie SE weighs 1,460 kg filled and sits close to two tonnes with six adults in it, so the base needs to carry that load without flexing or settling unevenly. Suitable options:

  • Existing patio slabs (provided they're level, bedded properly, and rated for the load)
  • A solid timber decking platform with adequately sized and spaced joists
  • A 3–4″ concrete pad (or equivalent) if you're starting from scratch — it just needs to cover the spa's footprint and be roughly level. You don't need a reinforced or laser-levelled slab; a normal concrete base is fine.

The single most important thing is that the base is flat and level across the whole footprint. An uneven base puts uneven stress on the shell over time and can void the structural warranty. Not sure if your patio will handle it? Send us a photo on 01293 824 094 — we'll give you an honest answer.

How much does the Erie SE cost to run?

A UK six-seater spa of this specification typically costs £2–£2.50 a day to run — around £60–£75 a month across the year, with winter at the top of that range and summer at the bottom.

Three things keep the Erie SE at the lower end of that band: our Blackout Insulation package (triple-layer with infra-red reflection) means the heater cycles less often; the ThermalSprings™ system pumps waste heat from the pumps back into the water rather than venting it; and the 5″→3″ tapered hardtop cover with locking straps seals the heat in overnight. The heater itself is rarely working against the weather.

Real-world costs depend on your electricity tariff, ambient temperature, how often you soak, and whether you keep the cover on between sessions. Speak to the team on 01293 824 094 for a more specific estimate against your tariff.

Is it actually usable all year round?

Yes. The Erie SE is built for year-round outdoor use — acrylic shell, triple-layer insulation, and a heat-trapping winter-rated cover with locking straps. Many owners say a soak on a cold, clear night is the single best argument for owning one.

What's included in the price?

As standard you get the spa, its 5″→3″ tapered hardtop locking winter-rated cover, Mountain Pure™ UV + ozone sanitation (UV-C lamp + built-in ozone generator), an installed Glacier antimicrobial filter, the Balboa heater and digital control panel with diverter valves, the dual-pump hydraulic system, two retractable Bluetooth speakers, integrated aromatherapy canister, the Aurora™ Premium LED package (perimeter, underwater and LED-backlit cascading waterfall), all manuals, and free kerbside delivery to mainland UK.

Add the Back Garden Install (+£799) and we'll also include a black plastic step and a chemical starter kit — and we'll bring the spa down the side path on our dolly, position it on the base, start the fill, and walk you through the chemicals on the day. (Cover lifter isn't part of the install — it's available separately if you'd like one.)

Warranty included: 2 years parts & labour + 10 years shell structural cover — no mandatory paid annual service to keep it active.

Not included either way: the electrician callout to fit a 32 A dedicated spa circuit (source locally; typically £300–£700).

Can I see it in person?

Yes — please do. Our showroom is at Canada House, Unit 1, Salbrook Road, Redhill, Surrey · RH1 5GL. Ten minutes from Gatwick. Open Monday to Friday 9am–6pm and weekends 10am–4pm. No appointment needed, but booking means we'll try to have the Erie SE available to view for you when you arrive.
